In this unit, we have learned about Vedas, a form of sacred poetry handed down in tones by High Priests, the Brahmins, as a form of ancient Indian music. Vedic chants are a form of world music written in the ancient Sanskrit language and are popular in yoga chanting. Chants have been crafted by many cultural groups as a form of celebration, mourning, and storytelling. For this assignment, you will create your own contemporary chant. Your chant must be between 30 seconds and 1 minute long.

Be creative, you are not writing a traditional chant, you are writing your chant!
Remember, a chant is a poem.
